WELCOME

The congresses take place from 13th to 16th of June 2012 in Helsinki, the capital of Finland and the World Design Capital 2012. The theme of this congress is Nordic Approach.

The main congress venue is Hanasaari, a Swedish-Finnish Cultural Centre. Hanasaari is a unique representation of pure and beautiful Finnish nature midst archipelago, yet close to the city centre. You can find the whole preliminary scientific program under the section "Program" of this website.

We have the privilege to host a world famous faculty: Professor Eric Arnaud will give the Tord Skoog lecture on Cranio-facial surgery; Professor Isao Koshima will share his pioneering work of supramicrosurgery and lymphatics. Professor Scott Spear is a world authority of immediate breast reconstruction and professor Jaume Masia is a pioneer of perforator imaging and lymphatic surgery.

We will organise Consensus Panels on current practices on hot topics like post-bariatric surgery, immediate breast reconstruction, sentinel node biopsy in skin cancer, and war and disaster surgery.

The best way to make most of the congress is to combine business and pleasure. You are very welcome to join in the social program after the days' panels and lectures. There is something arranged for each evening.

One highlight of the social program is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the world's largest genuine sauna at Suomenlinna Sea Fortress Island – a UNESCO World Heritage site that is well worth visiting as it is.

The Gala Dinner will be held on Friday the 15th of June in a charming art deco-style Restaurant Pörssi, located right in the heart of Helsinki. More info about the gala dinner and other social program is available on the website under section "Program".
